Nice marks its 30th anniversary: from Oderzo to the world, a history of innovation and excellence

Oderzo (Italy), 3 November 2023 - Nice turns thirty years old. On 2 November 1993, a journey that would have led the company to become a global leader in Home Management Solutions began in a garage near its current headquarters in Oderzo (TV). A success story marked by innovation, sustainability, and differentiation, but constantly guided by the mission of improving people's quality of life. Today, Nice can count on an organization of more than 2,800 people on 5 continents, with a wide range of different skills and cultures, as well as 15 R&D centers and 13 production plants.

Lauro Buoro, Founder and Chairman, started out by making transmitters and accessories for the automation of gates and garage doors, and by introducing a new way of producing and communicating in the sector: back then, in a market that was characterized at that time by a rather basic offer and anonymous communication, Nice proposed integrated automated systems, which were easy to use and quick to install, functional, user-friendly for the system designer, the installer and the end user.

Since then, the range has expanded to include a complete portfolio of integrated Home Management Solutions. Today Nice represents the values of Made in Italy in more than 100 countries around the world, which have chosen the high quality of its solutions, able to wisely combine technology, design, ease of use, and sustainability.

In recent years the company has also achieved important milestones that have marked the expansion of its presence in strategic international markets.

2021 was a key year in the process of consolidating Nice's global leadership, thanks to the acquisition of the California-based Nortek Security & Control, now Nice North America. With a value of USD 285 million, this was the largest of Nice's 7 strategic transactions from 2018 to date.

This year, on 13 June, the new headquarters in Brazil – where Nice is a market leader – was inaugurated, designed by the prestigious MCA, Mario Cucinella Architects studio. The state-of-the-art building was established in Limeira, north-west of São Paulo, on an area of over 20,000 square meters. The industrial facility will support Nice's growth strategy in the region and globally, allowing the company first to become the leader for automation solutions in Latin America and then to integrate the plant into the Nice ecosystem as an export hub.

Nice is already looking ahead to the upcoming thirty years, aware that the continuous improvement is key to pursuing its mission: designing a Nice world, improving people's quality of life, simplifying the everyday, while making experiences enjoyable and living spaces more sustainable.
