Nice announces a double-digit investment plan for the Sun Shading Solutions business unit

Nice has announced a double-digit investment plan for the next 3 years, aimed at strengthening the productivity of its new business unit Sun Shading Solutions, established in January 2021, in the 2 plants of Oderzo (IT), Nice headquarters, and Schlierbach (DE), the head office of elero.

The sales of the BU led by Enzo Viola, CEO of elero, record a significant increase thanks to a rapidly accelerating market and the acquisition of many new customers, which will lead the BU to achieve solid results in 2021. Thanks to its extensive expertise in this sector and confirming Nice's position as a leading player, the business unit is in charge of all Nice's solar shading activities, with a wide offer ranging from applications for all types of roller blinds, rolling shutters and awnings to shading for exteriors and facades.

In response to global difficulties in the supply of raw materials, a simultaneous increase in prices and in order to meet growing demand and tight delivery times, the business unit is implementing a long-term strategy based on three pillars:

1. in the very short term - in November 2021 - the production capacity of elero tubular motors will be doubled at the Schlierbach plant.
2. using the competencies of the BU, the production will be verticalized: in the coming years, in order to respond to demand more efficiently and independently from the global market, important components will be produced to a greater extent in-house.
3. finally, the BU will be able to ensure increased proximity to customers with an upgraded level of logistical expertise, thanks to geographical proximity in the most important markets.
